Special temporary instruction driver permit

(1) The Department of Transportation shall provide for the issuance of special temporary instruction driver permits in a manner consistent with this section. Except as provided in this section, a special temporary instruction driver permit is subject to the same fees, provisions, conditions, prohibitions and penalties applicable to an instruction driver permit under ORS 807.280 (Instruction driver permit).

(2) The department may issue a special temporary instruction driver permit, without charge, to a person who has filed an application for and paid the fee for a special student driver permit or an emergency driver permit but was unable to qualify for the permit because of lack of experience in the operation of motor vehicles. A permit issued under this section shall be valid for only 60 days. [1983 c.338 §317]
