Failure to file after failing verification

(1) A person commits the offense of failure to make future responsibility filing after failing verification if the person:
(a) Is unable to provide satisfactory proof of compliance with financial responsibility requirements as of the date of the letter of verification from the Department of Transportation under ORS 806.150 (Department verification program) upon the demand of the department under ORS 806.160 (Demand for proof of compliance) within the time required by that section; and
(b) Does not, within 60 days after the date of the mailing of the demand by the department under ORS 806.160 (Demand for proof of compliance), make a future responsibility filing.
(2) The offense described in this section, failure to make future responsibility filing after failing verification, is a Class B traffic violation. [1983 c.338 §857; 1985 c.393 §64; 1985 c.714 §5]
