Establishment of interstate taxing authority
A community college district may enter into discussions with county governments or other similar county-wide public organizations in bordering states for the purpose of discussing the feasibility of establishing interstate taxing authority for the district through an interstate agreement entered into pursuant to ORS 190.410 (Definition for ORS 190.410 to 190.440) to 190.440 (Powers of public agency under agreement). Any such agreement shall be approved by the Legislative Assembly prior to taking effect. [1997 c.521 §4]
Note: 341.309 (Establishment of interstate taxing authority) was enacted into law by the Legislative Assembly but was not added to or made a part of ORS chapter 341 or any series therein by legislative action. See Preface to Oregon Revised Statutes for further explanation.
