2017 ORS 291.258¹
Approval of department required for establishment of new personnel position or classification

A new personnel position or classification, not provided in the budget of an agency upon which appropriations have been based, may not be established without prior approval of the Oregon Department of Administrative Services. The department shall notify the Legislative Fiscal Office of establishment of any new personnel position or classification. [Amended by 2016 c.117 §26]

Notes of Decisions

Where Personnel Division had responsibility under this section and ORS 240.215 (Classification plan), [former] ORS 240.220 and ORS 240.235 (Compensation plan for classified service) for classification and compensation plans for classified service, Forestry Department did not have authority to promulgate directive binding division to include within restructuring-reclassification proposal request for salary increases for all employes placed into classification with higher salary range.
