Operating Class II or Class III all-terrain vehicle in prohibited snow area

(1) A person commits the offense of operating a Class II or Class III all-terrain vehicle in a prohibited snow area if the person operates a Class II or Class III all-terrain vehicle on a groomed trail or a designated snowmobile or cross country ski trail or area during a designated snow use period.
(2) This section does not apply to emergency vehicles or to trail grooming equipment.
(3) The offense described in this section, operating a Class II or Class III all-terrain vehicle in a prohibited snow area, is a Class D traffic violation. [1987 c.587 §7; 1989 c.991 §18a; 1995 c.383 §113]
