Retailer’s or distributor’s implied warranty of fitness
Except if the retailer or distributor disclaims the warranty in the manner prescribed by ORS 72.8010 (Definitions for ORS 72.8010 to 72.8200) to 72.8200 (Operative dates), on every sale or consignment for sale of a consumer good sold at retail in this state by a retail dealer or distributor who has reason to know at the time of the retail sale that the good is required for a particular purpose, and that the buyer relies on the retailer’s or distributor’s skill or judgment to select or furnish a suitable good, the retailer or distributor gives the retailer’s or distributor’s implied warranty of fitness for that purpose.
