Chairperson of commission

(1) On or before January 20 of each year, the commissioners shall elect a chairperson. Each chairperson shall hold the position until a successor is elected.

(2) A majority of the commissioners shall constitute a quorum to transact business. The act or decision of such majority is considered the act or decision of the Wage and Hour Commission. No vacancy shall impair the right of the remaining commissioners to exercise all the powers of the commission.

(3) Each commissioner is entitled to compensation and expenses as provided in ORS 292.495 (Compensation and expenses of members of state boards and commissions). [Amended by 1961 c.337 §2; 1969 c.314 §68; 1993 c.18 §132]
