Rules for transportation of hazardous waste

In adopting rules governing transportation of any hazardous wastes for which a permit is required, the Department of Transportation or the State Department of Agriculture must consult with and consider the recommendations of the Department of Environmental Quality prior to the adoption of any such rules. Transporters shall be required to deliver hazardous wastes to a site named in the manifest provided for in ORS 466.005 (Definitions for ORS 453.635 and 466.005 to 466.385) to 466.385 (Amendment of comprehensive plan and land use regulations), 466.990 (Civil penalties generally) (1) and (2) and 466.992 (Civil penalties for damage to wildlife resulting from contamination of food or water supply), or to an alternative site approved by the department.
