Office for Oregon Health Policy and Research created

(1) There is created in the Department of Human Services the Office for Oregon Health Policy and Research. The Administrator of the Office for Oregon Health Policy and Research shall be appointed by the Governor and the appointment shall be subject to Senate confirmation in the manner prescribed in ORS 171.562 (Procedures for confirmation) and 171.565 (Vote required for confirmation). The administrator shall be an individual with demonstrated proficiency in planning and managing programs with complex public policy and fiscal aspects such as those involved in the Oregon Health Plan. Before making the appointment, the Governor must advise the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the names of at least three finalists and shall consider their recommendation in appointing the administrator.
(2) In carrying out the responsibilities and duties of the administrator, the administrator shall consult with and be advised by the Oregon Health Policy Commission and the Oregon Health Fund Board. [1993 c.725 §33; 1997 c.683 §16; 2001 c.69 §1; 2003 c.784 §5; 2007 c.697 §14]
