2007 ORS 284.701¹
Definitions

As used in ORS 284.701 (Definitions) to 284.740 (Oregon Innovation Council research center):

(1) "Oregon emerging business" means an emerging growth business as defined in ORS 348.701 (Definitions for ORS 348.701 to 348.710) that has:

(a) Fewer than 100 employees; and

(b) At least 51 percent of its employees employed in Oregon.

(2) "Research institution" means:

(a) A community college as defined in ORS 341.005 (Definitions);

(b) A state institution of higher education listed in ORS 352.002 (Oregon University System);

(c) The Oregon Health and Science University public corporation created under ORS 353.020 (Oregon Health and Science University as public corporation);

(d) An Oregon-based, generally accredited, not-for-profit private institution of higher education;

(e) A federal research laboratory conducting research in Oregon; or

(f) A private not-for-profit research institution located in Oregon.

(3) "Traded sector" has the meaning given that term in ORS 285A.010 (Definitions for ORS 284.101 to 284.146 and ORS chapters 285A, 285B and 285C). [2005 c.748 §1]
