Record of appointments and commissions
  • Secretary of State’s power to certify status of notary

(1) The Secretary of State shall keep a record of appointment and commission of each notary public. The Secretary of State may certify as to the term of office of such notary public and imprint upon all instruments requiring a notarial certificate.

(2) Full faith and credit shall be given to all protestations, attestations and other instruments of publication of all notaries public appointed under ORS 194.010 (Appointment of notary public). [Amended by 1967 c.541 §9; 1983 c.393 §18; 1989 c.976 §11]
