Health care coverage defined

For purposes of this section and ORS 657.880 (Health care coverage for unemployed individuals), the term health care coverage means coverage under:

(1) Health insurance policies issued by qualified insurers and health care service contractors;

(2) Contracts entered into by and between the State of Oregon and qualified insurers and health care service contractors; and

(3) The medical assistance program administered by the Oregon Health Authority. [1983 c.753 §3; 1991 c.66 §29; 2001 c.900 §260; 2009 c.595 §1044]

An individual who performs services for remuneration is an employee, and person or organization for whom services are performed is an employer under terms of Employment Division Law even if remuneration is paid indirectly rather than directly unless employer shows that some statutory exclusion applies.
