Liability of employer

If an employees trade equipment is damaged upon or stolen from premises under the employers control as a proximate cause of the employers failure to comply with ORS 653.280 (Employer to safeguard employees trade equipment) the employee has a right to file an action against the employer, and the employer is liable, for financial settlement as is needed to repair or replace the equipment.
